Week 11 Results

We're coming down the home stretch! Monday is our last weigh in before the biggest loser reveal. Most everyone is holding their own or loosing a little. Then there is Molly, steadily moving those scale numbers down. Good going Miss Molly!

Fat Fairy Catch Up - Weeks 8 - 10

I'm baaaack! Where have I heard that recently? Oh well here we go. As you can see it's been quite a ride! Week 8 saw most people hovering near the even mark, with a few slips here and there. Miss Molly is making steady gain. Let's keep an eye on her!
Week 9 saw Heather, Juliet, Mardy, and that Miss Molly shedding some pounds. Check out Kathy, what a loser!

Week 10 looks like no one is reporting, but don't be fooled. Most people are holding steading and not gaining or loosing an ounce. The notable exceptions are Mary Ann who is dipping the numbers on her scale and Juliet and Kathy who don't seem to understand this contest is about weight loss not weight gain. Must be water weight. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

We're down to the last two weeks. The contest ends Monday morning, Apr 14th, just before vacation. You want to be fit and trim for vacation don't you? Well, get going!

Week 5 - Mar 3

Congratulations Fatties! We are at the half way mark. Just think of showing off your new trim self during April Vacation. Most people are holding their own, which is great. Looks like that weight gain I had last week fell off this week. Lucky me. Molly is the one to watch, she is working hard and making strong, steady progress towards her goal. Good for her! Let's give a shout out to Heather, who is also making great headway. Keep up the good work.

Looks like everyone faired well over vacation except for that fatty, Martell. Mary Ann lost the most, followed closely by Juliet. Good work everyone!

Week 3 - Feb 10

What a week! Fanci Nanci is melting away, like we wish the snow would. I happened to come in second in the loss column, not sure how. Everyone else is doing well and holding their own. A few backslides, but the Fat Fairy thinks that must be new muscles or water retention. Remember muscles weigh more than fat!

Have a great vacation. Try to stay active and healthy. Our next weigh in is Feb 26th.

Week 2 - Feb 3


Heather took a commanding lead this week. It must have been the calories she burned during those 5 concerts this week! Miss Molly was seen trekking through Blue Hills over the weekend and her results shows her efforts. Good solid results for most fatties. Better still, looks like no one pigged out during Superbowl weekend! Keep up the hard work!

Week 1


Good morning losers! Week 1 results are posted. Juliet is  in the lead and a wonderful role model to the rest of us. Kudos Juliet! Mardy, the winner from another season, was in second place followed closely by Dotti and Mary Ann. Let me confess, I started eating when the snow started flying and haven't stopped yet. Oh dear, just gives me more to work on. Stay the course and stay active - you'll be warmer:-)

Welcome to the "Biggest Loser" Contest!!


Take the Eliot challenge and join us in our goal to lose some weight this year! Posted below are the rules of the competition - but here's the gist: Everyone at Eliot is welcome to join, the contest lasts 12 weeks, you choose the amount of weight you want to lose, set your goal you email your losses/gains each week, I will post your weekly losses online (not your actual weight), the entry is $30.00, and the winner is determined by greatest % of weight lost! That's it! So... are you up for the challenge? Could YOU be the biggest loser?!! Fill out the attached entry form.

Contest Dates: January 20, 2014 - April 11, 2014
(12 Weeks - no weigh-in the week of Feb 21, vacation week)

The big losers will be announced and prizes awarded before April vacation!

The Rules:
  • Entry Form and Fee ($30) must be received by Monday, January 21st
  • Goal: Set a goal for yourself, at least 3% of your current weight. If you reach your goal by the end of the contest, you'll receive $10 back from your original $30. The remaining $20 will go into the overall winning pot.
  • Weigh-ins: Weekly weigh-ins will be on Monday mornings and must be reported by noon on Monday (Tuesday if there is a Monday holiday). You may weigh-in at school or at home, but you must use the same scale throughout the competition and you must be consistent regarding clothing and shoes (no penny rolls in the pocket at the first weigh-in). Reporting tenths of a pound will be left up to the individual - tenths of a pound for digital scale users, nearest pound for "old-school" users. The first week's weigh-in (Jan 20) will be your starting weight for the contest.
  • Entry Fee and Prizes: Contestants will pay an entry fee of $30. If the target weigh loss goal is met, the contestant will receive back $10. If the target weight loss goal is not met, the entire entry fee will go into the winning pot.
  • The winners will be determined by the percentage of weight lost, not the number of pounds lost. Payout will be divided among the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners (60%, 30% and 10% respectively).
  • Penalty Fees: I’m not wasting my time calculating penalties. Please make my life easier and report your weight on time. I would really appreciate it. If I don't receive you weigh in report by Tuesday at noon, I'll use the weight from the week before.
  • Piggy Pass: Each contestant will receive a “Piggy Pass” that may be used at anytime during the 9 week competition. For example, this pass can be used if the contestant gains weigh for the week and doesn’t chose to report.
  • Honesty Counts: Can you believe that some contests require supervised weigh-ins? Instead, let’s all agree to have fun and be honest!
  • Confidentiality: The original weight of the contestant will remain confidential. The Fat Fairy is the only one who will see the pounds and she's not talking! Results during the competition will only show percentages for goals and weight gained or lost.
